It all started when we were given the incredible chance to participate in the JA Romania & GEN E 2025 competition. The challenge was simple but daunting: come up with an innovative idea that could make a difference. At first, things didn’t go as planned. For months, we struggled to find the perfect concept, facing setbacks and questioning our direction. But when the pressure was at its peak, with just two days left before the deadline, we came together and found our spark of inspiration. That’s when CRAFT was born.

We are four teenagers from Bucharest – Mihnea, Sebastian, David, and Ștefan – united by a shared passion for creativity and helping others. As we brainstormed, we reflected on the challenges faced by people we know: relatives, friends, and even acquaintances who are local producers or artisans. Despite their incredible talents and hard work, many of them struggled to reach customers or gain recognition for their handmade products.

We’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for artisans to stand out in a market dominated by mass-produced items. Local producers often lack the resources or platforms to showcase their skills, leaving their unique creations underappreciated. We wanted to change that.

That’s how the idea for CRAFT took shape. CRAFT is more than just a platform; it’s a space where creativity meets opportunity. It allows artisans to create a profile, list their skills, and upload examples of their work. Customers can browse through these profiles, discover the amazing talents around them, and directly connect with artisans to request personalized, one-of-a-kind creations.

The concept is simple yet powerful: imagine being able to gift someone a truly unique item – a piece of art, a handcrafted accessory, or a custom decoration made specifically for them. With CRAFT, customers can work directly with artisans to co-create meaningful, personalized gifts that reflect care and originality.

Our platform celebrates more than just products; it celebrates the stories behind them. Every item crafted through CRAFT carries the passion and dedication of the artisan, making it not just a purchase but an experience.
